Databricks Open Model License
- Attribution: Distributions must include a notice file with copyright and license information.
- Distribution: Must provide a copy of the license agreement to third parties.
- Modification: Must state that modifications have been made.
- Use Restrictions:
- Cannot be used to improve other large language models (excluding DBRX derivatives).
- Must adhere to the Databricks Open Model Acceptable Use Policy.
- Cannot violate applicable laws and regulations.
- Commercial Use: Companies with over 700 million monthly active users must request a separate commercial license.
- Updates: Must make reasonable efforts to use the latest version of DBRX.
- Trademark: No trademark licenses are granted.
- Ownership: Databricks retains ownership of DBRX and its derivatives. Users own their own modifications and outputs.
- Litigation: License terminates if the user initiates litigation claiming infringement by DBRX or its outputs.
- Warranty: DBRX and its outputs are provided “as is” with no warranties.
- Liability: Databricks is not liable for damages arising from the use of DBRX.
- Termination: Databricks may terminate the agreement for breach of terms. Users must cease use and delete DBRX upon termination.
- Governing Law: California law governs the agreement, with exclusive jurisdiction in California courts.
Llama 2 License

- Must adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy for Llama Materials.
- Cannot be used to improve other large language models (excluding Llama 2 derivatives).
- Commercial Use: Companies with over 700 million monthly active users must request a separate commercial license.
- Warranty: Llama Materials and outputs are provided “as is” with no warranties.
- Liability: Meta is not liable for damages arising from the use of Llama Materials.
- Trademark: No trademark licenses are granted.
- Ownership: Meta retains ownership of Llama Materials and its derivatives. Users own their own modifications.

Differences in Restrictions
